I don't know how many times my littles & I would be on a grocery run & they'd say, "what IS that?!" or "how does that taste?!" while we walked through the produce section. I finally decided to follow their curiosities and buy these items for a taste-test!

My little ones are a little hesitant to try a lot of foods (not that we haven't tried..) so I thought this might be a fun way to introduce some new fruits, considering it was technically their idea.

Who knew fruit could be so interesting (and delish)?!
Some new fruits were such a big hit, we will start buying them regularly — HOORAY, for trying new things!

In This Activity
Sensory — Put all the senses to work with this activity! Look, feel, smell, taste; even listen to the difference sounds each fruit makes as you cut & peel them.
Spark Conversation — We spoke of colours, shapes, sizes, and used descriptive words like, ' citrus, bitter, tangy, acidic' and 'texture, smooth, speckled'.
Fine Motor — assist older children in cutting some of the fruit. Fruits like kiwi & the inside of dragonfruit are a bit easier to cut.
Happy taste-testing!
