Sweeping Shapes Activity

Learning to use a broom is a great practical life skill! Add shape recognition into the mix & you’ve got yourself a simple practical life game!

Materials:

• recipe cards or pieces of paper & marker

• painters / masking tape

• broom & hand-broom & dust pan

• foam pieces / small pieces of paper or any other material for sweeping up

» create shape cards; each card/paper with different shape

» make shapes with tape on floor; use a wide open space for moving freely

» pick a card, see your shape

» sprinkle & sweep into shape!

In This Activity:

Gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, communication & teamwork, shape recognition, early-reading, and had a whole lot of fun!
