Teach your little ones about patterns with this Prehistoric Patterns activity!
Benefits of Teaching Patterns:
- children learn to make predictions & logical connections
- begin to understand rhythm & repetition; what comes next
- learn reasoning skills — ie. after a bath, you put on clean clothes or pajamas
To help your child to learn about patterns, show them differences between each dinosaur in each pattern card (such as colour) to help them to recognize 'what comes next'.
Think about the language you use with children when describing and creating patterns. Use words like before, after, next, start, finish, middle, between, end, same, different, again and repeat.
